FAQs

When is The Starboard open? When can I get food and drinks?

We are open May through September 7 days a week from 8:00 AM until 1:00 AM. October through April we are open Thursdays through Sundays at 8:30 AM.

Breakfast is served each day from the time we open until 2:00 PM. Our Lunch/Dinner menu begins at 11:30 AM and is served until 10:00 PM. From 10:00 PM until close our Late-Night Menu is available with some of the guests’ favorite appetizers and sandwiches. Our current food menu can be found here.

As per the state of Delaware, we cannot begin serving alcohol until 9:00 AM and the last call is at 12:45 AM. Our Bloody Mary Bar is opened each day from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM for you to make your own version of a Bloody Mary with a smorgasbord of Bloody Mary Mixes, hot sauces, spices, and accouterments. You order the alcohol from your bartender and server and mix away! Please take a look at our drink menu and weekly specials to see all that we have to offer.

Am I able to bring my pet into the restaurant while I eat

While we love dogs and all pets, due to a recent incident involving a dog injuring a staff member, sadly pets are no longer allowed in any dining or bar area of the restaurant. The safety of our customers and staff comes first. Thank you for understanding.

Am I able to make reservations? Can I host an event at The Starboard

The Starboard is first come, first serve as far as table service goes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day. We do not take reservations or call ahead add-ons to our waitlist. Regrettably, we cannot take reservations for large parties either. Our largest table seats 10 guests. If your party is larger than 10 the hosts will do their best to seat your party at tables close together. However, please note that this will add to your wait time

The weekends tend to be the busiest days for table service year-round! It really starts to pick up around 10:00 AM or so when we typically go on a wait for tables. Your best bet is to check in with the hosts when you arrive to get on our waitlist. You can then make your own Bloody Mary at our World-Famous Bloody Mary Bar or enjoy a crush as you wait. We ask that your entire group is present when it is time to be seated. We look forward to your visit!

Private events occur based on what is occurring here in the restaurant. During our busy season (May – September) and various events throughout the year, we use the entire restaurant for service and are unable to accommodate private parties and events. However, we would be more than happy to discuss options regarding our event space and food and drink options in the off-season if that date is available. Currently, we are unable to accommodate offsite catering.

Those inquiring about the availability to book a Private Event at The Starboard fill out a request form online here.. Please indicate the type of event, date, time, number of guests, and your thoughts on food and drink for your event. A representative from our staff will get back to you to discuss our private area utilized for events as well as food and drink options if your request can be granted.

What kind of entertainment do you have and where can I find the schedule?

There is NEVER a cover charge here at The Starboard! All our shows are free to guests! Check our Entertainment Schedule to see which bands are playing and when! Throughout the summer we have entertainment on Saturdays and Sundays on the deck during the day and bands a lot of Friday and/or Saturday nights. On Wednesday nights Lost in Paris plays inside on stage at 10 PM, Thursdays Royals are on stage starting at 10 PM and Kristen and the Noise is acoustic inside on Sunday nights starting at 9 PM. When there aren’t bands playing, we have our in-house DJs keeping the party going all day and night long! You can stay updated with what is going on at the Starboard by signing up for our newsletter.

Can I sit inside or outside year-round to eat and drink?

We have both indoor and outdoor seating available all year long. You can enjoy our indoor seating in the Dining Room or Shark Tank which is kept cool in the summer and toasty in the winter.

Our Deck seating is available for those who want to be a part of the party carrying over from our bars on the deck. Awnings, umbrellas, and big fans keep things cool during the summer months while heaters are blasting in the Fall, Winter, and cooler Spring days.

We also have our parking lot seating that is partly covered by a tent. It is heated during the cold weather and the flaps are open with fans blasting during the warmer times. Those tables completely outside have umbrellas to help with the summer sun and fire pits during the chillier times of the year.

Lastly, you can always order some food and a beverage or two at any of our indoor or outdoor bars if you are 21 years of age! We look forward to your visit!

Where can I park?

Dewey Beach is a busy little beach town and is getting busier each year! The Starboard unfortunately does not have any onsite parking. From September 15 through May 15 each year parking on the streets of Dewey is free. >If your car is facing the correct way on the road and not blocking a driveway you will not get ticketed. There are yellow markings on each street to indicate the no parking areas.

From May 15th through September 15, you do have to pay for parking. Permit parking, kiosk parking, and coined metered parking are available throughout town. More information on specific locations can be found here – Town of Dewey Beach Parking Guide. Park Mobile is available in most locations. Also, daily, weekend, weekly, and seasonal parking passes can be purchased at Town Hall on Rodney Avenue. Specific parking rules can also be found at the above link.

The town of Dewey Beach does have free parking from 5 PM until 11 PM on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings during the summer season!
