Known for making the most out of our holidays, we are planning a huge day for this week's Suicide Sunday with our 2nd Annual FLAG DAY Celebration. We partner up with Miller Lite and Nalu to host the event, as most of you are aware...June 14th is our country's Flag Day! Here is how we hope you will join us this Sunday..... After a few hours of Breakfast and Bloody's here at The Starboard, you can head down to Nalu on Dickenson street around Noon for a few ice cold Miller Lites. At promtly 2pm, you will all gather out in front of Nalu, being led by our own Mayor of Dewey Beach...you will walk up the street to the beach, down the beach and up to New Orleans street, and come directly back to The Starboard! (hopefully the beach replenishment project does not alter our route!) Once back at The Starboard, you can pile onto our already crowded deck to join everyone in several rounds of Ice Cold Miller Lites, Miller Chills, and "fat free" Miller 64's! I have purchased 500 American Flags for you to all carry down our beautiful beach...so be sure to stop in for your flag prior to marching down the beach. Dewey Beach has always been a very patriotic town...so please join Nalu, Miller Lite, and Us as we continue to make Flag Day a tribute to our wonderful country and those that serve and protect us! See you this Sunday! In what was one of our busiest happy hours so far...last Friday people really enjoyed all the effort Grotto Pizza put into helping us grow our Friday Happy Hour. We now have DJ Smoky spinning tunes with plenty of contests on our deck, and the huge Grotto Truck baking pizzas right in our parking lot. Stop by for DOLLAR slices of Grotto's, $2 Miller High Life Lites, and $3 Miller Lites from 5-8pm this Friday. There will be plenty of prizes given while playing all the favorite games. Hard to believe, but the Running of our Bull is just ONE MONTH away! On Saturday, July 11th we will host the 13th annual tradition. The parking lot will be packed by 10am in the morning, and look out Dewey Beach...as this year we are bringing a LIVE BULL to town! Luckily, our plan is to keep him all caged up. Luckily for all of you running with the bull, OUR bull will still be two people in a bull costume. I was asked to see if any of our Starboard Nation has any connections at the Spanish Embassy...as we are looking to have dignitaries join us this year from Spain. If you do, please let me know. TOUCHDOWNS FOR KIDS Next weekend we will be hosting a ton of current and former NFL players here at the Starboard, as Reggie Branch welcomes back much of his NFL family to help us raise money for our local youth sports leagues here at the beach. The Junior Lifesaving programs, Little league baseball, Pop warner football are all organizations here locally that need our help. Not only is it fun to have so many great NFL players join us here in town, but an incredible feeling to help keep these kids programs growing throughout the year.
