Starboard Update - June 26, 2009

Date: June 26, 2009

Last Weedend - Touchdowns for Kids!
This past Sunday was a very big day at The Starboard, as we welcomed over 25 NFL players & alumni to help us raise money for our local youth sports leagues here at the beach. This is a golf tournament that Reggie asked me to put together years ago, and was yet another success as we raised close too $15K for our local youth. With plenty of Redskins & Eagles for the most part...and Jimi Smooth on the stage...it created a fun night of rivalry and partying before the golf on Monday. Thanks to all of you that helped make this event a success as it means quite a bit to our friend Reggie Branch!

This Weekend
Last WeekendFriday is yet another Grotto Pizza Happy Hour here at The Starboard with our Pie Eyed Fridays sponsored by Miller Lite. You will see the huge Grotto Pizza mobile in our parking lot, selling slices of pie for just a BUCK from 5pm-8pm each and every Friday. Miller Lites are just $3 and the champagne of beer...High Life Light is just $2! Stop on by when you get to town, as our Friday happy hour has grown each and every week.

Starboard vs. Portside
Saturday, besides the normal breakfast and daytime partying that takes place here on a regular basis...this Saturday The Starboard has a challenge from our sister bar in Baltimore...the Portside Lacrosse team has challenged our Starboard lacrosse team. Now...Baltimore is the home of lacrosse...so us beach guys are at a little disadvantage..but we have accepted the challange, and will take on the very tough team from Portside this Saturday at 2:30pm just up the highway a bit at Rehoboth Elementary School using their outdoor fields. Feel free to stop up and cheer on the good guys (that would be Team Starboard of course) or more importantly, join both teams back at The Starboard around 4:30pm Saturday as we host a little party to end the lacrosse season for 2009. If team Starboard upsets the Portside...trust me...everyone will know!

Suicide Sunday
Last WeekendSundays have been incredible this year here...and thank all of you for that. On the business side of it, our sales are up over 15% on the year, without raising a single price in years. That just means more people are loving The Starboard than ever! On the fun side...I get emails every week with people stating how much fun they have in this place...so I thank you for that as well! This Sunday...we turn it up a notch as we kick off the long 4th of July week. Sunday night we continue with Live music inside with the band out of Philadelphia 11:11. Of course Doug Segree is here all afternoon, then come back later as we continue on all night.

Running of the Bull
All I need to remind each of you is that on Saturday, July 11th...the greatest day of the year will be upon us once again! The outside parking lot will be added to our capacity to fit all that want to help take part in the revelry. This year we mark the 13th annual Bull run, so be sure to gather all your friends, and get here very early that morning! Check out all of our Events

Beach Houses
You guys can help us out by making sure your beach house is now online via our website. We have a registration page where you can add your house to our beach house listing, you can add pictures, etc... so please check that page and make sure your house is a part of our newly designed website. We are working on numerous changes to our website throughout the summer...so just keep checking in, as it just takes time to get all of the information we have put up on the site.

Thanks again to each and every one of you for making this place so incredible! Everywhere I go I see STARBOARD shirts all over town. You have created this place into the Cult that it is....I hope you all get here safely this weekend, and have a fantastic time as the weather forecast could not be any better at the moment...Sunny Sunny Sunny!
