It's been over a month since the Starboard opened our doors for the 2010 season, I can already tell you we are on record pace for a fantastic year. The month of April has been the best April we have ever seen, I am assuming the rough winter weather has put everyone in the mood to hit the beach and have some fun so far this season. This past Saturday we had LauraLea and Tripp Fabulous on stage, you would have thought it was mid-July rather than mid-April with how large the crowd was. Anyway, we have been as busy as Santa's elf's getting ready for the season with improvements to all aspects of The Starboard. The building, the menu, the websites, the Plasma's, even our back of the house computer systems are all going through alterations to upgrade them all. We are about to jump into summertime pace as May always is a quick month with schools letting out, and Memorial day lasting for what feels like a 10 day weekend. We will open a full 7 days a week in just over another week. Needless to say....Here We Go with Summer 2010!
By now you have all heard plenty on Starboard TV. I have to tell you, selling memberships to help defray the massive costs for this effort is not something I was comfortable with. I am extremely happy to announce that we have found many companies these past weeks that wish to advertise on our Starboard TV, in turn, we are immediately removing the need to register/subscribe to view our incredibly entertaining website. Close to 200 of you have already registered for the TV/Insider package, and we will be sending each of you a gift certificate in the amount of $50 to partially reimburse you for this expense. We are going to continue with our Insider VIP program, so many of you that have registered are extremely happy to be a part of this. We will just make the TheStarboard.TV a free website, and hope you can all now share with your friends the great content we have compiled for Starboard TV. Below I will go into detail on The Starboard Insider VIP program. TheStarboard.TV is now live and ready for each of you to view for FREE as often as you wish. We will continue to add new fresh contest each and every week. By viewing this site, you will again see that we will in NO WAY harm your fun times at The Starboard by catching you on camera, this site is mainly about our staff, behind the scenes of our staff, and if any customers has a desire to be filmed, we will do so only after they sing a waiver. So please...add TheStarboard.TV to your favorites list, or on top of your tool bar so that you can view it regularly. Forward this site to anyone you feel may enjoy it as well. We are proud of the work done so far on the site, and want to show it off now that it is FREE, so everyone can share in some laughs! So you understand our commitment, we control Starboard TV, we only put on it what we wish to have viewed. Just yesterday, I received a call from a Hollywood producer wanting to use The Starboard as a venue to film a reality TV show, I appreciated their interest knowing what a large draw The Starboard name has become, but declined as none of us want any part of outside cameras filming in our beloved establishment. Once you view Starboard TV, I hope you will understand the direction we are going with this, will love what we have created, and understand that we will mostly film our staff, the Running of the Bull, and a few special events throughout the summer season. There are NOT cameras inside the bar other than our standard security.
We start up our weekly entertainment this week with LauraLea & Tripp Fabulous every single Wednesday now through the end of September. Thursday nights we offer The MAVI TRIO, as they are now with us till Labor Day. Once we go 7 days a week very soon, we will add more entertainment as we try to keep a full calendar for each night of the hectic summer season. DJ John Hardy will be back for his 28th season at The Starboard working weeknights and weekend days, DJ Steve will be around in his normal morning spot, then Smoky is back to DJ on both Friday and Saturday night during the summer season. In the coming weeks, you will see a completely revamped www.TheStarboard.com website, we are working daily now on an entire new look, new navigation pages, and plenty of new content to keep this sight extremely informative foryou all. We have revamped the photo pages, the beach house pages, the events calendars, and our weekly specials. I will of course let you know through this newsletter once it is live, as that date is quickly approaching.

I have heard over and over from so many of our long time regulars that our VIP's are somewhat saturated. We do our best to keep our regulars happy with the infamous STARBOARD VIP CARD, which has been in the market now for over 22 years!!! Often imitated, never duplicated comes to mind when others offer VIP cards around here. It is with this in mind that we have developed the STARBOARD INSIDER VIP PROGRAM! Basically, people all over want a Starboard VIP card; we will always continue to honor them with access to our side VIP entrance. We love our VIP cardholders as it makes the Starboard unique in that we almost always have a bar full of people carrying their VIP card, who cherish what Starboard is all about. Those without a card often have a hard time getting in on weekend nights, with long waits in our main line.

To create a VIP level with a little more prestige...we have created this Insider VIP program, previously associated with a subscription to Starboard TV...but now standing on its own as Starboard TV is free to all. For the one time annual fee of just $49, you can enroll in our Starboard Insider VIP program and receive these benefits listed below:

Please don't worry, our bar staff will still be giving out our regular VIP cards for those of you that just want to get into the side VIP entrance, but for any of you that want the premium status, or cannot get down here before Memorial Day to get yourself a card, we now offer this Starboard INSIDER VIP!

Our Starboard Restaurant Facebook page now has close to 5,000 members checking it regularly, with a pace of 100 new members being added each and every week. For those of you on Facebook, or any social media sites, be sure to follow The Starboard as we now have people onsite keeping our Facebook, twitter pages, etc... fresh and filled with information on The Starboard and Dewey Beach!

With so much effort to get our website up and running, our Starboard TV available to all, Facebook, twitter, etc... , and about to go 7 days a week...that is all I have for now, but plan to begin weekly updates from here on as our entertainment and activities are increasing by the week.

Our entire staff is excited for this upcoming summer season...it will be here before we all know it, thanks for your support of The Starboard, or staff, and for making us the best spot here in Dewey Beach year after year!
