Here we are at the one month mark since our Opening Weekend back in March! In speaking for myself, it feels like a lot more than a month ago that this place opened. Since then, we have opened up our huge new Bethany Blues BBQ restaurant up near Lewes, it sits right on Coastal Highway, so none of you can miss it as you drive into town. That has been a two year project and we opened up the week following The Starboard's Opening! Needless to say, The Starboard has not gotten the attention it deserves for much of the past month from me, but things are now running smooth everywhere, and time to get things rolling here at Starboard as Memorial Day Weekend is just ONE MONTH away!

In saying all of that, the past month of business here at The Starboard has been as big as I have ever seen a spring. The Starboard may be the first business in America to spark this country out of a recession...most all of you saw what an incredibly huge Opening Weekend we had, and the weekends following Opening have all been way above average! Somebody call the President and let him know The Starboard wants to be the Trend Setter in ending this economic slump for us all! Ha! I know that many of our loyal Starboard customers have all had to find ways to cope with the real world, the economy, etc... but seriously am happy to see that The Starboard is able to fill that special spot in everyone's social life to keep bringing the good times while you are here in Dewey Beach! There will once again be NO price increases for the 2009 season here at The Starboard on any item whatsoever...and as always...we pride ourselves in honoring our NO COVER CHARGE policy throughout the entire season! I even brought in some Natural Light and Miller High Life Lights around here...so people have some less costly choices!!

Now Open is our 10,000 square foot Bethany Blues BBQ of Lewes. We opened our first BBQ spot down in Bethany Beach just about 5 years ago, and have no grown into a new building with our second location. You all know Kevin Roberts from behind the bar with Tracey all those year here at The Starboard, well now Kevin is the head guy at our new Blues! The place is absolutely incredible. Business has been off the charts, much busier than we ever anticipated from day one! Hopefully you can all check it out when you get to town as we are open EVERYDAY year round for both lunch and dinner, and also quite an impressive looking bar scene! We are a two-time winner of the Delaware State Rib Championships, and also finished top five in the county out in the Kansas City American Royal Championships! So stop by and give us a shot...you will recognize plenty of Starboard touches throughout the restaurant.

Our new design on our website is just about complete...hopefully to be launched within the week. Once it is launched, we will continue to add and add and add to the site, as we have so much incredibly useful and interesting information, we are just trying to organize it and make it available too you. So over the next month...this new website will grow each and every week!

Oh yea...how can anyone have not gotten a card by now??? I know, I know...there will still be a few of you that need them. Once we are up and running with this new website, we will have an online registration for you to register to receive your 2009 VIP Card via mail. So hold off, it will be up very soon, and I will send out a mailing so you know exactly when!

For those of you up in the Wilmington area...two of our bar staff, Pat & Lincoln will be up at The Trinity Tavern this Thursday night from 4-11pm with cards in hand. The Trinity Tavern is located at 4716 Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington....across from Midway Plaza! Even if you already have a VIP card for the season, if you are close by, stop by and make Lincoln and Pat have a drink with you for a change!

This year, the crew from the HOUSE BOOK has been making their rounds. They will be at The Bottom Line in Washington, DC the next two Thursdays, April 30th and May 7th. If you have not found a house to live in yet for this summer, or need people to join your beach house...this would be a good time to head down to The Bottom Line for a few cold beers, and to help get set up with a house...or vice versa!

I have already been asked by hundreds of people about purchasing tickets to our 50th Anniversary Celebration, to be held over the weekend of October 3rd. Those tickets will not be available until we have finalized most of the planning of the event, as there are still so many details to plan for such a massive celebration! I am guessing that tickets will be available around Memorial Day Weekend! Trust me, anyone on this mailing list will have first dibs, as you will be notified first!

For now, that is all on The Starboard. I will have our summer schedule on when we post the new website, and am just working now to get everything finalized to try and make this the best year ever here in Dewey Beach!
