The 4th of July weekend always kicks off a huge span here in Dewey Beach, starting off with the holiday weekend, busy all the following week, capped off with our biggest event of our year...THE RUNNING OF THE BULL! Over the years, I have rarely seen a weather forecast as nice as we have over the next 10 days. Most days look completely sunny, some cool, some hot...so enjoy and those of you that will be here for the entire period, take time to enjoy all that Dewey Beach has to offer! (I could do into my chamber of commerce pitch now but you all know there is plenty to do from the Ocean to the Bay here in Dewey.)




We have ordered the magnums of champagne (over 100 cases) to be ready for the daytime shenanigans to begin. We installed an entire new walk-in refrigerated cooler box last week to house all of the Oranges and Grapefruits for our crushes, and have enough Smirnoff Vodka in house to throw the world’s greatest party. Whether you are joining us for Breakfast, Lunch, or just some fun times on our decks, we are ready for the masses to have a fantastic holiday weekend!




The holiday SUICIDE SUNDAYS are always off the charts around here! We will get started promptly at 9am on Sunday...we'll have every bar in the place open and ready to serve. Doug Segree will bring his entire band to town for the afternoon and then LAURALEA will be in house for a free night show after the fireworks. The city of Rehoboth Beach, through their Main Street Foundation, will provide fireworks for all to see...certainly the beach is the prime spot, but the Starboard deck is not a bad spot to see them either! They will go off about 9:15pm on Sunday night.



Next Saturday, July 10th... What else do you need to know?! With the thousands we had in attendance the past few years, I don't want to say too much so more people find out about this fun tradition! This coming week I will have plenty to get you prepared for the big day, till then...enjoy the 4th of July, hopefully some vacation time at the beach, and we all look forward to doing whatever we can here at The Starboard to make your time here in Dewey Beach the best it can be!!



A group of local businesses which include The Starboard and Bethany Blues BBQ are joining together to host one huge concert ON THE BEACH here in Dewey on Wednesday, July 14th to raise money for the estuary programs down in the Gulf. Delaware Center for Inland Bays is working with us to help their sister estuary in Louisiana, we are all devastated by this disastrous oil spill, and want to do what we feel the right thing to help them out as we both live in coastal towns and understand how anything could happen to any of us living near the coast. The town of Dewey has been generous enough to allow us to host this event on the beach Wed, July 14th, we hope any of you local or that will be on vacation can join us for what is snowballing into a major beach event. Starboard TV continues to add more and more footage, updated several times weekly, and you can find plenty of laughs. With over 1200 viewers PER DAY on average now, everyone seems to be enjoying the coverage of our Starboard staff behind the scenes. Next weekend we will have the full camera crew in town to cover the famous Running of the Bull, so you will be able (for the first time!) to view the entire event online following the weekend!!




Thanks for your support! Sorry....but as always you won't find ANY COVER CHARGE at The Starboard despite it being a holiday weekend. You can save your money and just come have fun with us at anytime as we are open from 8am every single day till 1am, and have entertainment every day of the summer season.
