Happy New Year to each and every Starboard VIP out there! We were extremely fortunate to have an incredible showing for our entire New Year's Eve weekend three weeks ago. Perfect weather for this time of year. The town was filled with great people, and so much of our regular summer staff made it easy to pull off one heck of a New Year's Eve weekend! Thanks to everyone... we are still hosing out the champagne from the deck boards! |

The Countdown has officially begun with less than 60 days till The Starboard re–opens. An outstanding tradition for so many in this area, The Starboard's Opening Weekend always fills the small town of Dewey Beach over St. Patty's Day Weekend. With St. Patty's falling on a Saturday this year, look out! We surely expect record crowds, and have applied for an extension so we can put that huge heated tent in our parking lot to handle everyone. With everyone wanting to spend their weekend at The Starboard, we appreciate the Town of Dewey allowing us to use the extra space to accommodate so many... makes for a great kick off to the 2012 Dewey Season!
If you have not yet booked a hotel for Starboard Opening... may I suggest you look into it sooner than later. Every hotel sells out over this weekend; be sure to mention The Starboard as the reason you're coming to town, most hotels give discounts to Starboard VIPs! |

It is about THE BEACH in Dewey right?? That point may be argued on a bar stool from time to time, but in reality we have a tremendous beach here in Dewey; even though some only see it the day we run the BULL down the beach! The US Army Corps of Engineers has just finished replenishing our beach, and it is absolutely amazing! When you're in town next, be sure to walk up the street and see how large our beach is. Impressive!

We are in the process of fine tuning things here over the winter, freshening some things up, menu changes, bathroom renovations, and planning for the upcoming season. On Saturday night, February 18th, many Dewey businesses will host our annual Winter Gala; a benefit to help purchase needed supplies for our lifeguards and police departments in town. These two organizations do so much for not only the safety of everyone in Dewey Beach, but also for our businesses. This event is one of the many ways the Business Community gives back! The Starboard, Bethany Blues, Que Pasa, Lighthouse, Hammerheads, Woody's, and Port all kick in to provide Food, Drink, and a great night out on the 18th! |

This is a black tie optional party; about half of the guys wear tuxes, the other half are in suits. All of the women are decked out! Tickets are just $85 which includes a full open bar, (we have five themed bars!) 8 food stations, and some great entertainment from THE SKIP CASTRO band, Jimi Smooth & Hit Time, Keith Mack & Ed Shockley, then some smooth jazz from Comfort Zone on the lower level.
